Research Profile

My focus is on geographies of violence and borders. I particularly focus on gendered outcomes of violence and displacement, including feminized and forced disappearances. My work also focuses on how violence follows women that have no choice but to leave their homes across borders. In part this violence is direct, yet more commonly the violence is embedded in discriminatory and gendered systems of borders and protection.
